Metallurgists and Cabinet Makers

As a company grows to a certain size, inevitably it becomes impractical to know everyone in the organization. And when you join a company that’s already big, it’s entirely possible for you to not know about certain divisions or practices. It was exactly this lack of knowledge that caused me to be immeasurably excited by the discovery last week at IBC that we have metallurgists and cabinet makers working for us!

TVN24 van satellite MercedesFundamentally, KIT is a software company. Around the edges we provide some additional services — primarily consulting. But as the world’s leader in over-the-top television solutions, one of our key differentiators is that we’re the only company in our space that has true end-to-end experience. And what that means is that, amongst other things, we actually build studios and OB vans (those news trucks you see driving around with satellite dishes on top).

Until IBC, I hadn’t really put much thought into what that meant. But one of the things it means is that we have metallurgists and cabinet makers actually making stuff. Coming from a high-tech background, that’s pretty exciting. I feel a little like a kid in a candy store.

Cheers,
Chris
